The Story Behind This Print
Another frame from the Sandwich Harbour dune fields (see Worlds Collide for the full backstory on this coastline). This one is a much smaller-scale detail than the towering dune walls nearby — a series of small, evenly spaced ripples running across the sand, shaped by the wind into a repeating pattern of little rises and dips.
Up close, they look almost engineered, like something built rather than blown — speed bumps laid out across an empty stretch of desert.
Each print begins as a Lumachrome exposure on metallic photographic paper, then is face-mounted beneath acrylic for extraordinary depth and color. Most images can also be custom-sized up to 120″ on the longest side — just ask.
