The Story Behind This Print
Sandwich Harbour, about 56 kilometers south of Walvis Bay, is one of the most dramatic landscapes in Namibia — the Namib’s towering dunes, some rising nearly 100 meters, run right up to the edge of the continent and plunge straight into the Atlantic Ocean. There’s no beach, no transition zone — desert on one side, sea on the other, meeting in a single line.
Standing there, with sand underfoot and waves breaking just below it, it genuinely feels like two entirely different worlds colliding at the same point.
Each print begins as a Lumachrome exposure on metallic photographic paper, then is face-mounted beneath acrylic for extraordinary depth and color. Most images can also be custom-sized up to 120″ on the longest side — just ask.
