The Story Behind This Print
A counterpoint to Solitary Confinement — same ancient camel thorn trees of Deadvlei (see I AM GROOT for their centuries-old backstory), but here two of them stand right next to each other, close enough to almost touch.
After hundreds of years rooted in the same patch of clay, they’ve simply grown old together — the closest thing this dead forest has to neighbors.
Each print begins as a Lumachrome exposure on metallic photographic paper, then is face-mounted beneath acrylic for extraordinary depth and color. Most images can also be custom-sized up to 120″ on the longest side — just ask.
