The Story Behind This Print
Another view from Sandwich Harbour, where the dunes of the Namib run straight down into the Atlantic (see Worlds Collide for more on this stretch of coast). What stood out here was the sand itself — a stretch completely untouched, smoothed clean by the wind with no footprints, no tracks, nothing to suggest another person had ever been there.
In a landscape this dramatic, it’s rare to find a piece of it still entirely undisturbed — not a trace of anyone, anywhere in the frame.
Each print begins as a Lumachrome exposure on metallic photographic paper, then is face-mounted beneath acrylic for extraordinary depth and color. Most images can also be custom-sized up to 120″ on the longest side — just ask.
