The Story Behind This Print
Morning light on Fujisan, the clouds drifting past the summit and banking along the lower slopes. Autumn maples fill the lower right of the frame.
Fuji makes its own weather. Standing alone on a plain with no range to shelter it, the mountain pushes moist air up its flanks until it condenses, which is why cloud so often forms against the cone on an otherwise clear morning and then pulls apart again by mid-day.
Each print begins as a Lumachrome exposure on metallic photographic paper, then is face-mounted beneath acrylic for extraordinary depth and color. Most images can also be custom-sized up to 120″ on the longest side — just ask.
