The Story Behind This Print
Post-sunset glow backlighting Fitz Roy, with one enormous lenticular cloud hanging over the massif.
Patagonia makes these better than almost anywhere. Wind coming off the Southern Patagonian Ice Field hits the range with nothing in the way, and the standing wave it throws downwind holds a cloud in one place while the air pours straight through it.
Each print begins as a Lumachrome exposure on metallic photographic paper, then is face-mounted beneath acrylic for extraordinary depth and color. Most images can also be custom-sized up to 120″ on the longest side — just ask.
