The Story Behind This Print
Autumn color framing Monte Fitz Roy. We spent a solid afternoon hiking the area, in no hurry, taking in the views and the turning trees.
The mountain carries two names. Locally it has always been Chaltén; Fitz Roy is the one the Argentine explorer Francisco Moreno gave it in 1877, for Robert FitzRoy, who captained the Beagle.
Each print begins as a Lumachrome exposure on metallic photographic paper, then is face-mounted beneath acrylic for extraordinary depth and color. Most images can also be custom-sized up to 120″ on the longest side — just ask.
