The Story Behind This Print
Same dunes as Caught in the Waves, but pulled down to a single ridgeline here. At the right moment, the sun catches just the crest of a dune while everything below and beside it falls into deep shadow — one sharp, glowing edge cutting across the frame, the rest of the sand left in near-black silhouette.
It’s that contrast that makes Sossusvlei’s dunes worth waiting for — not the sand itself, but the single line where the light finds it.
Each print begins as a Lumachrome exposure on metallic photographic paper, then is face-mounted beneath acrylic for extraordinary depth and color. Most images can also be custom-sized up to 120″ on the longest side — just ask.
